A St. Patrick’s Day Shot of Legal Wellness

We all know that St. Patrick’s Day is one of the biggest drinking holidays of the year. In cities across the country, streets are filled with parade watchers and bars are filled with customers all ready to have a good day of fun. But some people always end up overdoing it. I mean, it wouldn’t be St. Patrick’s Day without a whole bunch of tickets for disorderly conduct, public intoxication, and, yeah, public urination.

So, I thought I’d see where people were behaving the worst and breaking the most laws. The results weren’t what I expected. The “winners” weren’t the big cities like New York, Chicago, and Boston. I’ll give you the top five: number one was Savannah (32% crime spike), Cincinnati (26%), Cleveland (25%), Detroit (19%) and, Denver (14%).

These are the pretty big jumps and you don’t want to be one of people jumping because breaking the law on St. Patty’s Day is one of the surest ways to find yourself in the paddy wagon.
