Brian Flores Sues the NFL for Racial Discrimination

Hi, I’m Danny Karon, your Lovable Lawyer here with your quick shot of legal wellness. By now, most of us have heard what happened in the NFL the other day. Former Miami Dolphins coach Brian Flores filed a class action lawsuit against the NFL and his former team, the Miami Dolphins, who play right here behind me. He alleged that the league and the team are guilty of racial discrimination in their hiring practices. The coach’s 57-page complaint is full of a lot of allegations, some personal to him and some more generalized to the league.

What happens next? What’s the next step in a class action case? Well, I have to believe that the NFL will move to dismiss or petition the court to kick out the case from the get-go. The NFL will argue that these allegations of racial discrimination don’t plausibly suggest anything realistic happened that was bad. Coach will say that they do and will ask them not to punt it.
