Pandemic Prices: Is Price Fixing Happening Right Now?

Hi, I’m Danny Karon, your Lovable Lawyer here with your quick shot of legal wellness. Have you looked at retail prices lately? How about food prices? They are through the roof. It makes you wonder what’s going on. Is it simply a function of companies passing on their COVID-related cost increases? Or, might there be something more happening here?

There was a hearing in the Senate no more than a couple of weeks ago. There was a testimony that two-thirds of publicly traded companies are reporting higher profit margins than before the pandemic. It makes you wonder.

For instance, I am working on a price fixing class action case involving the beef industry. What we are alleging is that the beef producers got together and in addition to passing along their COVID-related cost increases, they did a little more to make a little more money. If we win, it could mean millions and millions of dollars for consumers like you.
