The Legality of Counting Cards

Hey everybody, it’s Danny Karon, your Lovable Lawyer here with your quick shot of legal wellness. If you can’t already tell, I’m in Las Vegas today and I figured what better place to talk about the law against counting cards.

Or is it a law? Believe it or not, there’s actually no state or federal laws against counting cards. It’s a rule that casinos have. If you count cards, they can kick you out and they can ban you. If you come back and trespass, that could be a violation of the law and that’s where the illegality comes into play. So, don’t count cards if you want to stick around a casino but just realize it’s not technically illegal despite what people make you think.
